"I can see myself as a Neanderthal flint chipper sitting by the fire in the night. It was the first specialized labor in human history. Maybe I knew where the best flint was, or how to flake it better than anyone else. My lineage goes back before what we call the oldest profession. It's a craft at least 30,000 years old. When people wonder how a man can spend his life making hunting knives, they should remember that. It's a gloriously venerable occupation." - Bob Loveless
"Jesus Christ, Himself, could send a bar of steel down from Heaven but it will only be as good as the heat treatment it gets on Earth" - Jerry Rados
"Why would anyone pay $3,000 for a hunting knife? They say, because my name is on it. I'm carrying an awfully big rep. If I were a gunfighter, I'd be hiding in a cave somewhere. But I wouldn't spend that much money for a knife if it was autographed by Jesus Christ himself" - Bob Loveless
"When a man picks up a knife, there's an old memory from the collective unconscious that surfaces. A knife is an atavistic experience. It was man's first tool and weapon. Man was chipping flint into cutting edges before he invented the wheel. No matter how sophisticated we become, a knife takes us back to the cave" - Bob Loveless

"We've built a few collector pieces but most Spydercos are hungry and like to eat. As mentioned, open, close, cut, clean, oil, cut, cut, cut... To a Spyderco, that is living. All of the effort that we put into designing and building the knife is found in using the knife; The horsepower in the steel, the edge, the ergos, sophisticated mechanisms, carefully chosen materials or custom made materials, history of and refinements to the design, etc. Letting it die in the box is to lose 75% of what we put into it" - Sal Glesser

"Buy a quality knife, only cry once" - Anon
"Rush a gun, RUN from a knife" - Al Capone
"Gold is for the mistress, silver for the maid. Copper for the craftsman, cunning at his trade. 'Good', said the baron, sitting in his hall, 'but iron, cold iron, is master of them all" - Rudyard Kipling
"I'd like to depart this world the same way I came into it - screaming and covered in someone else's blood" - Anon
"I think knives are a good idea. Big, fuck-off shiny ones. Ones that look like they could skin a crocodile. Knives are good, because they don't make any noise, and the less noise they make, the more likely we are to use them. Shit 'em right up. Makes it look like we're serious. Guns for show, knives for a pro" - Soap
“One good, sharp knife is worth two of almost anything else; except women and horses” – Charles Jimby…Texas Ranger
"Once again, a knife-wielding maniac has shown us the way" - Bart Simpson
