The Eklipse is a design born with its own attitude different from Hinderer's other designs such as the XM-18. The Eklipse was designed with more of a linear approach with regards to handle and blade metrics. With the blade deployed, the line from the blade tip flows through to the center of the handle allowing the blade tip to sit centered in your grip. This allows for a really light comfortable feel when using the knife in any task.
 
The double finger grooves and sloping underside of the handle combine to give the Eklipse an ergonomic grip. The thumb ramp with properly sized jimping ensures a solid grip when using the knife in a fencing type grip. The new Eklipse has a steel lockbar insert and of course comes with the new Triway pivot on board!
 
This Eklipse features CNC flat ground Spear Point blade. The over-sized choil permits choking up on the blade for more precise work. The blade locks up on a solid ¼ in diameter Thumb stud which is press fitted into the blade. This makes for a very strong lockup as there is no loosening of the thumb stud which can happen with two piece designs. The fact that the thumb stud locks up against the frame adds an incredible amount of strength to the sideways torque of the blade as the sideways stresses are being stopped by the whole handle side, thus relieving the stress that would normally be put on the pivot.
 
The blade is made of the upgraded S45VN steel, the successor to S35VN. in stonewashed finish. The handle is bronze anodised on the lock side and features black G-10 scales on the front.
