Zero Tolerance 0777 M390BLK Folding Knife Carbon Fiber Handle, VERY RARE

Back in 2012 Zero Tolerance Knives came up with a mind blowing knife designed in house by Jim McNair. The original ZT0777 (with composite blade) was a revolutionary design for a production knife and was unlike anything ZT or any other manufacturer had done before. The ZT0777 won the important “Overall Knife Of The Year” award at Blade Show in 2012. The 0777 started a legacy and became the first of a trio of magnificent knives by ZT, followed by the 0888 and 0999 models.
 
In 2013 Zero Tolerance retired the composite blade variation and continued the 0777 model with the M390 blade, but only for a very short time. Today the 0777 is one of the most sought after ZT models that every knife enthusiast would proudly add to their collection.
 
The super ergonomic carbon fibre handles are fully milled and contoured. Full carbon fibre construction makes this knife surprisingly light for its size. The multi-step milled handle is complimented with a sub-framelock mechanism which at the time, was hardly seen on any knives. This interesting mechanism which is patented by ZT works similar to a framelock, except the lockbar is a separate part which is internally screwed to the handle. This not only allows using a framelock mechanism on a non-metallic handle, but also makes replacing lockbars possible. Something that wasn’t possible with a traditional framelock knife.
 
The pocket clip is beautifully milled to an interesting shape/format. It is shorter than most pocket clips but due to its position, it allows very deep pocket carry. Being shorter, it is also stronger and near impossible to break. The area under the clip is recessed which counters for the extra hight of the pocket clip. The clip also covers and protects the sub-framelock screws underneath it.
 
The 0777 has one of the best actions in all Zero Tolerance knives with detent dialled in to perfection for a rapid deployment as well as equally nice closing action. The black hardware nicely compliments the black theme of the knife, allowing the custom milled pivot to be the standout feature on the handle.
 
As far as collectability is concerned, the 0777 is one of the top ZT knives, only sharing that title with the 0888 and the 0999. This is a knife that would add substance and value to any knife collection.
